About Finasteride.com
The most useful, most trustworthy, and most up-to-date finasteride resource on the internet — for patients, clinicians, and anyone trying to understand their options.
Our Mission
Finasteride is one of the most widely prescribed drugs in the world — FDA-approved for male pattern hair loss since 1997 and for benign prostatic hyperplasia since 1992. Hundreds of millions of men have taken it, and yet reliable, honest, independently written information about it is harder to find than it should be.
Most online finasteride content falls into one of two traps: either it is written by a telehealth company trying to sell subscriptions (which systematically downplays side effects and overstates efficacy), or it is generated by content farms with no clinical oversight. The result is a patient population making decisions based on incomplete or commercially biased information.
Finasteride.com exists to fill that gap. We are an independently owned, medically reviewed resource. We are not a pharmacy. We are not a telehealth provider. We do not sell finasteride. We provide information — comprehensively, accurately, and with full transparency about what the evidence actually shows, including the parts that are uncertain or contested.

What Makes Us Different
- We cover the hard topics honestly. Post-Finasteride Syndrome, the 2012 FDA label update on persistent sexual side effects, the Merck litigation history, and the contested prostate cancer data are all covered with full clinical context — not buried or minimized. We believe that honesty about side effects is itself a trust signal.
- We update monthly. Medical information ages. Our top 20 pages are reviewed and updated monthly; new studies are integrated within 7 days. Every page shows a visible “Last Reviewed” date.
- We cite everything. Every clinical claim on this site traces back to a named, verified primary source. We cite the original paper, not a summary of a summary.
- We serve both patients and clinicians. Each pillar page is written with progressive disclosure — a plain-language patient summary at the top, clinical depth (pharmacokinetics, trial data, mechanism) below for the prescriber audience.
Commercial Relationships
Finasteride.com may earn referral fees from telehealth platforms and pharmacies when readers use links on this site to access prescription services. These relationships are fully disclosed on relevant pages and in our Affiliate Disclosure. Commercial relationships do not influence the clinical content or review process of any page. Our medical board reviews content independently of our commercial partnerships.
