Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026 | Effective date: August 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Finasteride.com (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit finasteride.com. We take privacy seriously, particularly given the sensitive health nature of this site’s subject matter.
Information We Collect
Automatically Collected Data (Analytics)
We use two analytics tools:
- Plausible Analytics — a privacy-first, cookieless analytics provider. Plausible does not use cookies, does not track individuals across sites, and does not collect personal data. Aggregate page view and referral data is collected without IP address storage. No consent banner is required for Plausible under GDPR. Plausible privacy policy.
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — used with IP anonymization enabled and consent mode active. GA4 requires a cookie consent choice from users in the EEA and UK under GDPR/UK GDPR. See our cookie consent banner for options.
Information You Provide Voluntarily
If you contact us via email (editorial or general contact), we collect your email address and the content of your message. We use this only to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list without explicit consent.
No Health Data Collection
We do not collect personal health information (PHI). We do not have user accounts, intake forms, symptom trackers, or any functionality that collects your health status, diagnosis, or treatment history. If you proceed to a linked telehealth or pharmacy partner, their privacy policy governs any data collected on their platform.
How We Use Your Information
- Aggregate analytics data is used to understand which content is most useful and to improve the site
- Contact form/email data is used solely to respond to inquiries
- We do not sell personal data to third parties
- We do not use your browsing on this site to serve behavioral advertising to you on other sites
Cookies
Plausible Analytics sets no cookies. GA4 sets cookies only after consent is granted via our consent banner (EEA/UK users) or based on applicable regional rules. WordPress may set a session cookie for admin users; this does not affect visitors. Affiliate link tracking may use cookies placed by third-party affiliate networks if you click a referral link; these are disclosed in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Your Rights
EEA/UK residents (GDPR/UK GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, and port personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Since we collect minimal personal data, these rights will typically apply only to contact email correspondence. Contact [privacy@finasteride.com] to exercise these rights.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to opt out of its sale (we do not sell personal information), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Contact [privacy@finasteride.com].
Data Retention and Security
Email correspondence is retained for up to 2 years and then deleted. Aggregate analytics data is retained per the GA4 and Plausible retention settings (maximum 14 months for GA4 user-level data). We use HTTPS (HSTS preloaded), Cloudflare WAF, and standard WordPress security hardening. We maintain a security.txt with our responsible disclosure contact.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our practices or applicable law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Material changes will be noted on this page for 30 days.
